Why Organic Cotton?
Organic cotton is recognized as a vital tool in climate change mitigation. Well-managed organic farming systems with better nutrient-retentive abilities greatly reduces the risk of water pollution, maintains agriculture diveristy, builds soil carbon, lowers GHG emissions, and is safer for farmers and local communities.
What is GOTS Certified Cotton?
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a voluntary global standard for the entire process of apparel and home textiles made with certified organic fiber, and includes both environmental and social criteria.
Certification allows us to verify that environmental, social and animal welfare practices are ethical from the beginning of the supply chain to the final product.
It also gives you, the consumer, validation that we use 100% GOTS Organic Cotton, without the risk of mixing in synthetic or conventionally produced fabrics.
No New Plastic
As a company, we are not perfect, but we try to make the most environmentally-conscious choice everytime. That is why we are dedicated to not using any new plastic in our supply chain.
Our poly mailers are made from 100% recycled content, using a combination of post-consumer (70%) and post-industrial (30%) LDPE, they are also fully recyclable themselves.
Most widely-used garment printing uses plastisol ink, which has a base called polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Creating these inks releases toxins into the environment and poses health risks to those in contact with the chemicals. We opted for the more enviro-friendly option by utilizing water-based inks, free from plastic and made with naturally occurring substances for dyeing.
